Leto Peel is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Data Analytics and Digitalisation of Maastricht University and was involved in the start of the WWCS. His main research interests are in machine learning for complex networks, in particular the use of probabilistic generative models and Bayesian inference.
Alessandro Galeazzi
Alessandro Galeazzi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Padova. He works on topics related to complex systems, social networks and the formation of echo chambers on social media. He also really loves the mountains, so this WWCS is in the perfect location for him!
Angelica Sbardella is a researcher at Centro Ricerche Enrico Fermi in Rome and associate researcher at SOAS-University of London. She will present her work on productive complexity, technological capabilities and inequality in the sustainable transition, and guide us through the path of data-driven approaches in economic complexity.
Alessandro Fassò
Alessandro Fassò is a Full Professor of Statistics at the University of Bergamo, Italy, specializing in environmental statistics. He has served as President of The International Environmetrics Society (TIES) and as a member of the Council of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). A founder of GRASPA, the Italian Statistical Society’s working group on environmental statistics, he is also involved in the World Meteorological Organization’s WG-GRUAN. His research contributions include leadership roles in projects such as Horizon 2020 GAIA-CLIM and Copernicus Climate Service initiatives. Currently, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of Environmetrics and as Associate Editor for several prestigious statistical journals. He will present the work he does at the University of Bergamo before the presentation of the projects.
